Clare, Claire & Fran have combined their knowledge of surfing, film, photography, writing and marketing to make ‘First Love’. Each of them bring a different perspective and varying skills to the production.

Claire Gorman: Director, Cinematographer, Editor

As a Phillip Island local living a stones-throw from Woolamai beach, Claire lives and breathes the salt air everyday. Armed with a certificate in Documentary Making from The University of Melbourne this 24 year old qualified surf instructor has produced, filmed, edited and directed a string of successful documentaries. Her credits include Just a Drop, (aired on Channel 31 and screened at South Gippsland Film Festival), Something Blue and Penguin Island, a 360 Degrees production to be aired on the ABC, BBC and The National Geographic Channel. And most recently ‘Eddie’ – a short film about the 2009 Eddie Aikau at Waimea Bay which was selected for the 2010 North Shore surf Film Festival and the 2011 Yallingup Surf Film Festival. Claire is currently working on a film about Women’s big Wave surfing.

Clare Plueckhahn: Producer, Art Director, Water Footage

With a Bachelor of Arts Photography from RMIT Clare has been operating as a commercial photographer out of C.I. Studios, Melbourne for the past 4 years. If you haven’t seen her work on billboards and metro lights around the nation you would have spotted her shots in publications such as ACP Magazines, News Magazines, The Age, Foam Mag, Pop Magazine and Australian Surfing Life. When she’s not working on commercial jobs Clare spends most of her time at her place down on the Great Ocean Road or shooting and surfing in amazing locations like Indonesia and Hawaii. Clare has joined forces with Fran to start CosWeCan – their first project as a team will be a Womens Surfing TV Series

Fran Derham: Producer, Writer, Public Relations

After spending three years writing essays to get her Arts Degree from The University of Melbourne, Fran further refined her commercial writing skills by studying a Bachelor of Communications in Creative Advertising at RMIT. Soon after finishing all her studies she found herself working as a copywriter in an advertising agency. After quitting her job as a producer and marketing manager at photography studio C.I. Studios to work on First Love she is now embarking on a new adventure with Clare P – called CosWeCan. Along with editorial content Clare & Fran are working on a new Women’s Surfing TV series.
